NYSC correction of errors 2023. You will learn how to correct your name, date of birth, Correction of Course of Study marital status, and change wrong passports.
The National Youth Service Corps has released guidelines and commenced the NYSC Online Registration. If you have applied for the ongoing NYSC registration and wish to effect corrections, ensure you read this post to the end.
Correction of Mistakes on the NYSC Portal
The following procedures will walk you through to correct name Spelling mistake/rearrangement:
NYSC Name Correction
- Login into your Dashboard using your username and password.
- Click on Apply for Name Correction: Fill the required fields.
- Click on Place Request to submit and wait for approval.
NB: Please note that NYSC does not approve addition or removal of names. Contact your Institution to officially write NYSC for such request.
Request for Addition/Removal/Replacement of Name
The following procedures are to be followed:
- Login into your Dashboard using your username and password.
- Click on Apply for Name Correction
- Click on name Addition/Removal Option: Fill the required fields.
- Click on Place Request to submit
- Contact your Students Affairs Officer for necessary actions.
- Wait for final approval
Correction of Course of Study
The following procedures are to be followed:
- Login to your dashboard and click on the link for Correction of Course of Study
- Select Course of Study; and
- Click SEND REQUEST
Note: This approval is strictly done by your Institution’s Student Affairs Officer (SAO).
Correction of Class of Study Degree
The following procedures are to be followed:
- Login to your dashboard and click on the link for Correction of Course of Study
- Select Class of Degree; and
- Click SEND REQUEST
Note: This approval is strictly done by your Institution’s Student Affairs Officer (SAO).
Correction of Qualification
The following procedures are to be followed:
- Login to your dashboard and click on the link for Correction of Course of Study
- Select Qualification; and
- Click SEND REQUEST
Note: This approval is strictly done by your Institution’s Student Affairs Officer (SAO).
Correction of Date of Birth for Already Registered PCMs Whose Exemption
Certificate has been sent to their Institution (NIGERIA TRAINED GRADUATES)
The following procedures are to be followed for correction of date of birth after your EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE has been printed by NYSC
- Go to your Institution to collect the Original NYSC Exemption Certificate
- Submit an application to your Student Affairs Officer if you are wrongly exempted who in turn forwards your application to NYSC Headquarters for processing
- Your school will return to NYSC
- Original Exemption Certificate
- Photocopy of WAEC/GCE result certificate
4. NYSC will enable you to apply for a Change of Date of Birth on your Dashboard when the online registration portal opens.
Correction of Date of Birth
The following procedures are to be followed:
- Get 19 or 20 digits WAEC verification pin from any First Bank branch
- Login to your dashboard and click on the link to Date of Birth;
- Enter WAEC Verification PIN, select WAEC Type, Year of exam and enter your Examination Number; and
- Click on Verify button
- Click SUBMIT or CANCEL
Note that the difference between your Date of Graduation and Date of WAEC must be greater than or equal to Four (4) Years.
Correction of Date of Graduation of PCMs who are wrongly Exempted and their Exemption Certificate has been sent to their Institution (NIGERIATRAINED GRADUATES)
The following procedures are to be followed for correction of date of graduation after your EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE has been printed by NYSC
- Go to your Institution to collect the Original NYSC Exemption Certificate and complain to Student Affairs Officer
- Your Student Affairs Officer will then write a letter duly signed and forward to NYSC Headquarters stating your correct Date of Graduation for processing.
- Your Student Affairs Officer will return to NYSC
- Original Exemption Certificate
4. NYSC will enable you to revalidate when the online registration portal opens.

Good evening. Please I changed my name from Gladys Ejembi to Gladys Ene Ofuowoicho. I presented the afidavit during nysc reg. After reg, I applied for change of name and added Ene as my dashboard presented my name as Ofuowoicho Gladys. After 3 days, the request was disapproved. What is the implication? Should I proceed to camp or they won’t accept me with all the change of name?

Please admin why did my surname change to my husbands surname on my dashboard? Even after I’ve presented the newspaper publication which is actually showing that I bare his name not his surname. My credentials carries his name not his surname. But after registering as a married woman, it automatically changed to his surname. But I don’t want that. I’ve applied for change of name by replacing his surname to his own name as my surname. Hope it won’t affect my application/ registration as a married woman still? And how long will it take for the name to reflect on my dashboard so I can print out my greencard/ callup letter?
It won’t affect you since you have applied for a change of name.
Plx how long does it take for rearrangements of name to reflect on my dashboard?

I applied for rearrangement of names on my dashboard after the registration but the cafe man told me that I don’t need to report to student affairs officer of my school to approve it before it reflects on my dashboard
