JAMB Cut off Marks For 2023/2024 Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has not released cut-off points for this year’s admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and monotechnics.

I am going to show you the cutoff mark for all the federal universities, state universities, and polytechnics.

Let me state clearly that the general JAMB cutoff mark for universities is not accepted by some top universities in Nigeria.

It is pertinent that you click through your university of choice cutoff mark before proceeding with admission pursuit to avoid had I known.

Note: JAMB is yet to release the cutoff marks for 2024/2025.

The minimum cut off marks suggested by JAMB for admissions into public universities, private universities, public polytechnics, private polytechnics and colleges of education for the previous year are: 

1. Public Universities — 160
2. Private Universities — 140
3. Public Polytechnics — 120
4. Private Polytechnics — 110
5. Colleges of Education — 100

Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

These decisions were taken at the 2022 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.

JAMB Registrar said institutions, with the decision, are not to go below the minimum cut-off points adopted at the meeting for admissions.

According to him, “What JAMB has done is to recommend; We will only determine the minimum, whatever you determine as your admission cut-off mark is your decision.

Before applying for an institution, it is good you know the tuition and school fees of the school to avoid not being able to pay school fees after securing admission into the school.

The board will ensure that the criteria set by the Senate are strictly adhered to by the institutions’ admission officers during the admission processes.
