LASU Cut Off Mark 2023

The general cut-off mark has not been released by the management of the Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2023/2024 academic session admission exercise but the 2022 cutoff mark was 190.

Only the candidates who made Lagos State University their first or second choice in their application for admission, who scored 190 and above in the UTME Examination are eligible for the Post UTME screening exercise.

Lagos State University does not really have a specific cutoff mark for courses.

However, candidates who have scored a minimum of 190 in the JAMB examination are eligible to apply for admission into any of their chosen courses.

LASU Nature of Admission Screening

Lagos State University holds its admission screening exercises within a week or a couple of weeks and it usually comes in two phases.

Students who apply to study in the school are to proceed with the pre-screening exercise once it is announced.

Documents required for the pre-screening exercise are the SSCE result and JAMB registration printout.

It is pertinent that a candidate arrives early and locate his/her screening venue as soon as possible. Candidates will be screened on the JAMB scores and their SSCE results.

The second phase of the screening comes after the release of admission lists. Candidates who have merited admission will be invited for another screening exercise.

Items to Bring for the Screening

  1. Original copies of their educational qualifications (Statements of Results/Certificates).
N/B: Cases of awaiting results will NOT be accepted.
  2. Birth Certification/Age Declaration.
  3. A letter of good conduct from your Village Head or a responsible member of your
community/or civil servant not below Grade Level 10 or equivalent in the private sector.
  4. Certificate of Local Government of origin; and this notification of admission status
    slip

  6. First kindly explain to me the procedure of admission in Lasus because I have taken time to read your reply to people’s comment, some you stand a chance, Lasus does not consider a second choice candidate and so on despite the fact that they are above the department cut-off of 180 and 190. Please, what is the procedure, do lasus add the jamb score to the o level result after quantifying the o’level result?
Also, some you reply them that they stand a chance for choosing lasus as a second choice while some you reply lasus rarely considered second choice candidate. I do not understand the reason cause jamb this days makes a student to choose federal university, state and colleges or entrepreneurial skills

    • First choice candidates are considered first for admission. The admission is given based on the performance of the candidates. Suppose the Departmental cutoff mark is 200 and you scored 200 and your competitors scored above 200, they would be considered for admission first and if the approved number of candidates to be admitted into the Department is reached, you will still not be admitted despite you reached the Departmental cutoff mark. Higher scores make you stand a good chance.
