University of Hawaii Acceptance Rate

The University of Hawaii Mānoa campus presently admitted 58.4% of applicants who applied for admission to the fall 2021 semester. among 16,244 applicants who submitted their applications, only 9,493 applicants were chosen for admission, with almost 3,000 freshmen enrolled.

The acceptance rate for out-of-state applicants for the first-year class of 2024 at UT Austin was 8%.

Of the 57,2000 total applicants, 21,200 were from out-of-state. All UT Austin applicants who are not Texas residents are subject to holistic review, regardless of class rank or any other qualifications.

1,700 of these out-of-state students were offered admission, while the other 19,500 applicants were rejected, which matches the calculated 8% out-of-state acceptance rate previously mentioned. 

On top of this, UT Austin gives 500 recruited athletes special consideration in the admissions process, regardless of whether they are from in-state or out-of-state.

This means that this group of athletes is generally accepted at higher rates than other out-of-state applicants.  

GPA for University of Hawaii

There is no specified minimum GPA requirement for incoming freshmen, it is required of all Hawaiian and U.S. candidates to have a strong GPA and also be able to attain a 40% top rank in their high school graduating class.

International freshmen applicants are expected to have a cumulative GPA that is up to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at minimum.

The present freshmen students at UH Mānoa had an average of 3.68 GPA, which is up from 3.65 in the past year.

Based on the Institution’s most current common data set, over 47% of students who were admitted retained a GPA of 3.75 or higher, 21% held a GPA between 3.5 and 3.74, while 16% had an average GPA that is between 3.25 and 3.49.

SAT & ACT Requirements

SAT or ACT test scores are not required for domestic applicants but it is required from international applicants. Therefore International applicants are expected to have in the English and Reading sections a minimum ACT score of 48 and a minimum SAT score of 560 is required in critical Reading.

There is room for applicants to secure admission from the English Language Institute (ELI). Because through English Language Institute (ELI), The minimum ACT score is reduced to 43 total (with at least a score of 19 or higher in English and Reading, and the SAT Critical Reading minimum is reduced to 520.

When filling out UT Austin’s online application, students can indicate whether or not they would like to submit test scores to be considered as part of their application. Students who choose to submit optionally test scores must do so by the application deadline.

These optional SAT or ACT score submissions can serve as one among the many items considered in the holistic application review process at UT Austin.

The school has stated that standardized test scores are just one of many ways for students to demonstrate their academic potential, so those who feel as though their test scores indicate good academic performance are encouraged to submit them.

It is unknown whether UT Austin will require SAT or ACT score submission for first-year students for the fall 2023 application cycle and beyond.

Other Requirements and Admission Tips

The University of Hawaii can be completed from the Coalition Application or the ApplyTexas application.

The application includes some short answer prompts that applicants must answer along with an essay.

There is a nonrefundable $70 application fee due at the time of applying, although fee waivers are also available.

The University of Hawaii at Mānoa has admission requirements that are related to numerous institutions located in the U.S.: four English credits, three math credits, three science credits, three social science credits, four additional college prep credits, and five elective credits.

Official transcript: Domestic applicants are expected to submit one of the following in place of an official high school transcript or diploma: ACT, GED, HiSET, SAT, or TASC scores.

Although students admitted to UH Mānoa may be asked to provide their official transcripts to the Office of Admission – typically for validation or scholarship purposes.

Extra required materials differ based on the major the applicant desire to go for, as most programs of study have diverse requirements.
