Funding and Acceptance

Phillips University is one of the richest private academic establishments in the United States. The school received a total of 820 million US dollars in donations, according to the data released on May 1, 2008.

Furthermore, in the 2008-2009 academic year, the college decided to implement the need-blind admissions policy, according to the decision of the board of directors, thus becoming two schools in the United States that implement this policy together with Phillips Exeter College.

In the 2009-2010 academic session, the board of directors decided to adopt this admission method even when the school was facing huge financial pressure, thus becoming the high school in the United States that adopted this policy.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the policy allows the admissions office to separately review the funding application materials and the general admission application materials, and the interviewer and material reviewers do not view the applicant’s funding request.

Therefore, students applying for financial aid will not be rejected by the school because of financial difficulties. To this end, 42% of school students have financial aid, and the total aid in 2009 was $14.6 million.

Philips University Admission Requirements

Despite having a very low acceptance rate, the admission requirements of Philips University are pretty relaxed. The average SAT score of students is 2076, which is one of the highest average scores in the entire country.

In the 2008-2009 academic year, as of January 5, 2009, 128 of 266 people have been admitted to the university early, accounting for 48% of the total number.

As the years move on, the number of applicants increased significantly – making this academic institution one of the most sought-after in the world.

From 2003 to 2008, 66 students from the school went to Harvard University, 53 from the University of Pennsylvania, 50 from Yale University, 45 from Columbia University, 40 from Stanford University, 34 from Cornell University, 30 from Princeton University, and  24 people from the Provincial Institute of Technology have become the main students of the college.

This is a complete guide to Philips University’s acceptance rate, tuition, courses, and admission requirements.

This guide was written to help prospective students who desire to apply to the school know the right path to take while sending in their application, so as to enhance their chances of being admitted into the school.
